1st Half-Marathon...Completed.

Jeremiah ran and finished his first Half-Marathon.

The race was last Saturday - 11/14, in Richmond, VA @ 7:30am.

I was shooting to run in under 2 hrs, and came in at 2:01:30. Close!

I placed 1800 out of 4500 runners and finished with an average pace of 9:12 mins/mile.

I'm already planning the next one in March. The National Marathon/Half-Marathon in Washington D.C on March 20th. If anyone would like to come out and run I'd love the company!

13.1 miles are a long way to run in 2 hrs...I'm still recovering!

Happy Birthday to Tye Elizabeth! She's 5! And boy was she excited.

She was all about Barbie this year ( and every year it seems). This year was the Three Musketeer's Barbie.
She may be growing up, but Cinderella is still one of her favorites..
She's really excited about getting to do Tinkerbell's hair.
She's been practicing on her own, this might be a little easier!

Brandie has become pretty famous for her Barbie cakes and this year was no exception...

It's amazing how fast they grow up!

Our Garden

Pics of what's left of our garden...we should have taken pictures 3 weeks ago when it was really rockin!

New Living Room

While Brandie was away, screwing around in Canada (without a passport or ID for the kids that she took with her - Holt and Ainsley) - Dad, Oakley, Tye and Taryn went to work on the house and re-did the living room.

We built a set of book cases to move the pottery up out of Holt's reach...

The beadboard wainscoting helps the leather couch not stick to the painted wall...

The kids were a huge help and even helped paint the green wall!

Ainsley Turns 7!

Happy Birthday to Ainsley!

Yesterday, she turned 7 years old.

She got a bunch of stuff - High School Musical, Hannah Montana and Bella Sara Cards (Don't ask me what they are...but she is happy she got them).

Mom did a good job on her horse cake!

SHE DID IT!!!

She wasn't really happy about it. In fact, she was kinda mad by the end. But, Brandie completed her first 5k yesterday, and in a pretty good time.

Yesterday, we all went back down to the Marine Base at Quantico, VA for the RunStock 5k (in celebration of Woodstock Weekend). We ran with the same group of friends that we ran the RunAmuck with. This time, Mike stayed with the kids - all 7 of them (5 of ours and two of theirs) and Brandie ran the race.

It was an evening race and didn't start until 7:15. It was still well into the 80's and was pretty humid. There were about 600 people that ran the race. The course was a pretty fun course (not if you ask Brandie!). It ran through the town and out along the Potomac River. It was really cool. In homage to the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock, there were bands set up all along the race course keeping us going with their music. After the race, there was a big stage set up where some local bands played and the rest of us recovered.

It was Ainsley's birthday yesterday and she thought it was pretty cool that we took her to a concert for her birthday. She was bummed it wasn't Taylor Swift!

Happy Father's Day!

Today is Father's Day and the kids were all very excited!

Everyone cut out pictures and colored pictures for Dad.

Oakley taught Dad how to build a custom team on Madden Football.

They each got to give Dad a gift...

They chose to make ribs for dinner...Holt LOVED them!

There was actually a time when he had two ribs in his mouth at the same time! The camera took too long to fire...it was priceless.

Quantico Marine Corp "Run Amuck"

On Saturday, we went to Quantico Marine Base and ran a race called the "Run Amuck." It's a 4.1 mile race through the trees, along a mud-filled trail with obstacles like hay bales, tires, barbed-wire, culverts and mud pits. The hills along this trail are HUGE!
There were 1094 people that ran the race, Jeremiah came in 285th and had a time of 46:09.

Oakley and Ainsley were able to run in the Kid's Fun Run, which was a 1/4 mile obstacle course. They ran in groups of 4. Oakley came in second and Ainsley came in 3rd!

We had to get up @ 5am to get there by 7:30. The kids all did great and had a great time.

While Dad was running, Mom took the kids and got USO tattoo's, doughnuts with red, white and blue frosting and stretched and warmed up for their race.

Everyone is already planning on going to the race next year. Oakley will be able to run in the adults race and Ainsley and Tye will be able to run the Kid's run. Oakley thinks he'll beat his Dad....we'll have to wait and see....
