Happy Father's Day!

Today is Father's Day and the kids were all very excited!

Everyone cut out pictures and colored pictures for Dad.

Oakley taught Dad how to build a custom team on Madden Football.

They each got to give Dad a gift...

They chose to make ribs for dinner...Holt LOVED them!

There was actually a time when he had two ribs in his mouth at the same time! The camera took too long to fire...it was priceless.

Quantico Marine Corp "Run Amuck"

On Saturday, we went to Quantico Marine Base and ran a race called the "Run Amuck." It's a 4.1 mile race through the trees, along a mud-filled trail with obstacles like hay bales, tires, barbed-wire, culverts and mud pits. The hills along this trail are HUGE!
There were 1094 people that ran the race, Jeremiah came in 285th and had a time of 46:09.

Oakley and Ainsley were able to run in the Kid's Fun Run, which was a 1/4 mile obstacle course. They ran in groups of 4. Oakley came in second and Ainsley came in 3rd!

We had to get up @ 5am to get there by 7:30. The kids all did great and had a great time.

While Dad was running, Mom took the kids and got USO tattoo's, doughnuts with red, white and blue frosting and stretched and warmed up for their race.

Everyone is already planning on going to the race next year. Oakley will be able to run in the adults race and Ainsley and Tye will be able to run the Kid's run. Oakley thinks he'll beat his Dad....we'll have to wait and see....

Baseball Game

We made another trip to Baltimore this year to watch the Atlanta Braves beat the Orioles 7-2 in 9 innings.

The highlight of the night was the cotton candy and the ice cream DiBs!

We ate all the ballpark junk food we could and made it home by 1am!

A Family Weekend

This is the main event!  Is everybody ready?

C'MON - IT'S TALLADEGA!

We do have other things going on this weekend and we'll update as they happen.  The kids are really excited about it - we're putting in a garden and they think that sounds cool.  They have NO idea how much work they're actually in for...not just tomorrow, but all summer.

Soccer games in the morning.  Pic's to follow.

STAY TUNED....

HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter!

Wow - dying easter eggs with 4 kids is quite the adventure.  There were only 6 dropped casualties and a few permanently dyed fingers.

Ainsley is very concerned that the Easter Bunny won't get the eggs out for an egg hunt in time before church and suggested that maybe we should skip church this week to make sure we get to find all the eggs.

Everyone is also very concerned that the Easter Bunny won't find us at our house.  Last year, we were in New York and the Easter Bunny found them there.  What if he still thinks we're there and doesn't come to our house!!???  To be young again and have that be your biggest worry!

Oakley is pretty convinced that the Easter Bunny is fictitious and that Mom and Dad stay up late and hide the eggs for the kids to find the next morning.  We didn't get into it tonight...I can't believe our kids are growing up so fast!

New Holt Pictures

Taryn got a hold of the camera and drained the battery.  Before it completely died, we got some new pics of Holt.  Once we get the battery re-charged...we'll get some of the rest of the family...

First Blog...

Here you go Torrie, Brandie has her blog going now.  I can't guarantee that it will be updated on a regular basis.  We don't even have a recent picture of anyone in our house - Tye will have to do for now...

Love, Brandie

ps...Taryn wanted a picture of her with Tye...
